Shunsuke Sako
Shunsuke Sako is the CEO of Mercari Marketplace, a position he assumed on March 1, 2025. He joined Mercari in November 2021 as a Vice President and has since held roles including VP of its cross-border unit and General Manager of cross-border operations. Sako is focused on driving growth and creating value in Mercari's global marketplace. Shunsuke Sako joined Mitsubishi Corporation in 2008 after graduating from UCLA. He then launched new businesses and established overseas bases for Motherhouse Co. Ltd. In April 2014, he became Representative Director & CEO of Minit Asia Pacific Co., Ltd., overseeing Mister Minit businesses in six APAC countries. Sako joined Mercari as a Vice President in November 2021 and was appointed Vice President of Cross Border in June 2023. He became CEO of Mercari Marketplace on March 1, 2025, aiming to create a global marketplace where anyone can buy and sell.
